Goal Setting

Writer's picture: Nicole MilnerNicole Milner

Today is Nov 1st. I saw a reel the other day that said if you start your resolutions on Nov 1st you will be 2 months ahead of everyone else.

On Oct 19th I turned 37 and as I hiked down Iron Mountain I thought to myself, "Why do I wait til January to set my goals? Maybe I should use Oct 19th to set my yearly goals."

How do you set your goals? Are you a SMART goal personal. Do you set really large goals? Monthly, Weekly, Yearly goals? Do you go back and re-evaluate your goals?

If you're anything like me, maybe goals give you a little aniexty. I have to constantly remind myself that goals can change and at one point you may have been going left, but now your going right. And thats ok.

For health and wellness there are 2 goals I take very serious...

1. Stay Active (and that can be doing anything…currently that looks like working out with my trainer 3 days a week, skating on Tuesday nights and running during lunch or after work a couple nights a week…oh and we cannot forget my BWA weekend activities which you can find here: https://www.eventbrite.com/o/black-women-adventures-74018335663)

2. Self care days (massages are my favorite…but I also just enjoy a little unscheduled quiet time…Im learning how to do my own nails…and ya girl loves watching movies AMC A List for me! )

If you dont know where to start just write something down. Then you can edit it later. If you dont stand for something you will fall for anything. Aint that what they say. You got this!
